Support @ Work

The Support @ Work Programme

The challenge of the modern day workplace

Work-related stress is now the biggest single cause of absence from work, and there is ample evidence to show that prolonged periods of high stress can have major long-term health implications as well as severely impacting upon an individuals career prospects and earning potential.  Several workplace issues can lead to mounting difficulties at work such as:
  • Performance - Increasing pressure to perform and hit targets and under performance due to stress, anxiety or ill-health
  • Workplace Bullying- This comes in many forms and people often don't realise they're being bullied until it starts to have a serious impact
  • Work life balance - Having to work longer hours just to get the job done and not being able to take regular time off due to the volume of work
  • Presenteeism - Going to work when you know you are unwell or unfit for fear of not getting the job done or losing pay
  • Absenteeism - Continued pressures that end up causing repeated ill-health or you simply cannot face going to work
  • Lack of investment - Little or no time givento training or support or to cover staff shortages
  • Family - Increasing numbers of employees who now have caring responsibilities outside of the workplace
More often than not it's a combination of two or three or even more of the above causes.  So what can you do about it?

  • Continuing support for as long as you need it

Solicitors & Trade Unions

We often work alongside or with employment solicitors if you're being represented in a tribunal or considering a settlement agreement, we will also work with your trade union if they are providing representation on your behalf.

The costs of the support we provide may be something that you could ask your employer to cover either informally or as part of your settlement agreement.  We can provide information to your solicitor or trade union about the services we provide.

Any employment dispute that reaches the stage of discussing settlement agreements or tribunal stage is stressful, and a bad employment experience can take many years to overcome, we can reduce the impact of that process and help you move on more quickly when it's over.
